Modern Dining Rooms Simple Beauty
Modern dining rooms can be a little formal and sophisticated yet combine a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
This trendy design embraces a minimal approach to its decor whether in an open floor plan home or in a separate room, and is where good meals and conversation can be shared with friends and family.
The dining table can be the inspiration for the room by playing an integral part with a base of clean simple lines and a top of possibly granite, stone, glass or stainless steel.
The size of the table should fit your family as well as the size of the room, while also keeping the amount of entertaining that you do in mind.
The rest of the furniture, like the sideboards and buffets which are design to provide space for storage and display, lacks intricate detailing and ornamentation and has smooth finishes with chrome, nickel or stainless steel incorporated into much of it.

The choice of wood is open to your preferences, but all of the finishes should be either dark or light and not a mix of finishes. When the tone of the wood remains consistent throughout the space, it creates the uncluttered and open continuity of what your modern designed dining calls for.
Lighting for the room usually requires a fixture above the table.
Whether it is a chandelier or a ceiling mount fixture, the design possibilities are enormous. Installing them on dimmers will control the lighting and allow you to create a candle lit ambiance in the room.
Modern dining rooms showcase neutrals in the design.
The fabric on any upholstered chairs and window treatments are in tones of neutrals.
Leather can be used which adds a richness to the space or using textured fabrics in a linen, wool or raw silk will add some softness to the design and offset the sleekness and smooth lines of the furnishings.
Modern dining rooms focus on textures and color instead of the use of much patterns.
If you are thinking this color palette is boring, an infusion of a bold pop of color can come in the way of an accent wall or a vivid and eye-catching accessory and bold works of art.

Light and views are an important element of the modern design so windows are usually left bare but if you need more privacy or the openness is bothersome then elect to cover your window in a simple treatment.
The walls can be papered or painted but are void of intricacies. A fine textured linen paper would be nice if you choose to paper but you don’t want an elaborate pattern.
Floors emphasize smooth, and can be stone, hardwoods, or bamboo.
If you are going to be using an area rug under the table be sure, the size is large enough that the chairs remain on the rug when they are pulled out. You don’t want the chairs half on and half the rug at any time.
Finally, accents for modern dining rooms may evolve around the table with a simple yet statuesque centerpiece and stand-alone art that you truly enjoy.
